One of the many words to which I’m predisposed is entertainment. In the context of this particular discussion, the term evokes images of happy people enjoying themselves amidst the chaos of the modern workplace. This can equate to a cocktail or two among the office throngs as opposed to the requisite three to five glasses of champagne. For the same reasons, a healthy dose of hedonism is a must and a little self-indulgence goes a long way. To wit, I am not a fan of the corporate rat race a la The Big Bang Theory, but I must admit to having a bit of schadenfreude when I see my friends go through it.
