Fade to Grey

Like so many that find their way to this city in the sky I came from a place I was running from. From my makers I left them far behind me and entered a new life. But unlike so many that come here I quickly found a use for my skills.

A hired contract killer by the corporations pays its way. Gemini Cybernetics and Tokuma Industries they all have their people they want to get rid of and that’s where I come in. Quiet, efficient and loyal to no one, I do things my way and alone.

Sure there’s been the moments where I’ve come off badly, chasing someone through the streets of Insilico. I’ve taken a fair few scrapes, damaged my body. Thankfully they’ve covered the medic bills and I live to see to another day. Unlike some of my contracts!

It’s no picnic out here on this rock of a planet, but it pays the bills.

It’s harsh and when the temperature drops at night and your out here, you better pray you’ve got enough insulation. At the end of every cycle I tell myself this is the last one, no more.

But I get back home to my tiny little apartment in the East District of Insilico, the bills waiting to be paid. Hoping I’ll have enough to put by for a better place, a better life. I tell myself it could be worse, I could be one of those homeless people down at the shelter routinely rounded up by the IPS never to be seen again.

So here I come again repeating the cycle out on this mining station. I’ve no idea what the scientists are working on. I’m not paid to ask questions, just the hired help to make sure things work smoothly without interruption. Maybe one day things will change…

In the depths of Insilico beneath the layers and layers of this city. Beyond the cables, the corporations, the high fly connections and street wars is a system. Another world that very few dare to travel through. Here the code is God, here in this space another war rages. Another religion breathes and rises.

The streets of Insilico are not paved with gold, its about time someone told you that. Gemini controls this city with its security force the IPS. Out on the streets the gangs fight for control, for their own little piece of Insilico. You think you can just waltz in here all full of bravado? Someone will soon cut you down. This isn’t some third-bit rate city floating in the sky.

Credits talk and if you’ve got the credits you can hire anyone to do your dirty work. That’s were we come in. You want someone to disappear? Need something retrieving? A break-in perhaps? Then we are the ones you want.

Today’s avatar is this gorgeous set titled ‘Cavalier Noir’ by June Dion of Barerose. Everything you see comes with the set except for the skin that I picked up myself from another store. I really love the flowing feeling of the cloak as it hangs from the shoulders and moves about you as you walk.

One of my favourite stores is ‘Last Eden’ formed by Lord Grayskull and Jen Tone. I’ve been following their releases now for nearly two years from a small airship to the current incarnation. It’s been fantastic following each new release as they expand and grow.

Today’s avatar is from their store titled ‘Protect Armour MK 1′. The beauty of this set is there are no scripts running in the clothing execpt for the animations and firing effects in the rifle which you don’t have to wear. Everything fitted perfectly with no adjustments needed at all, and comes with a shape so that it all fits smoothly.
