One of the great things I love about Avid’s clothing is that with each set you can wear the items in a different number of combinations or mix and match with other clothing and they wouldn’t look out of place. This set called ‘Moonlight’ is gorgeous and I love all the little details, like the flower on the lapel of the jacket. Of course the outfit was just begging to be photographed in some dark twisted possibly dead forest. As I’d been to Alirium yesterday for the first time I knew I had to take it there and see what I could do. Of course with all my shoots I take far too many pictures, I think on this one I had taken 17 different shots and here I’m only showing 4 of them. But the place is gorgeous and worth seeing if you’ve never been before.

‘On the Road’ by Jack Kerouac is one of those books that I read as a teenager that it had a lasting effect on me. I was there on the trains traveling back and forth across the American landscape.
I ended up getting my hands on anything I could get by Jack Kerouac which in turn led me to other beat writers; William Burroughs and Howl by Allen Ginsberg. And Patti Smith’s cover of Howl was like a shaman waking the spirits. Nothing compares to seeing her perform live and I was very fortunate to see her perform live a number of years ago at the home of Virginia Woolf.
